Brandi Jaray Mcleain (Director) is Originally from New Britain, Connecticut, I am an artist dedicated to creating work that challenges traditions within the Black community while embracing the culture. I began directing my Junior year at Southern Methodist University with a scene from Kia Corthron’s “Breath, Boom!” A year later I was given the opportunity to direct “We are Proud to Present…” by Jackie Sibblies-Drury as a mainstage production. My directing style is detail-oriented and scintillating, creating an atmosphere in the theater that brings the audience and actors together in the space to spark a conversation. I can’t wait to put “A Boy’s Room” in front of an audience and see what conversation comes of it!
